Simple Challenge #6: Don’t Eat Out For a Week

November 30th, 2008 by Jack Rugile - 5 Comments - Posted in Simple Challenge

Meal BillWelcome to this week’s Simple Challenge! To check out other simple challenges, please visit the Simple Challenge category.

I know, your taste buds and stomach just got really angry at me after reading the title of this post. However, your wallet could not be happier!

Eating out is expensive. Even the cheapest restaurant will end up costing you more than if you just ate at home.

Don’t get me wrong, eating out is one of my favorite things to do. Going out with a group of entertaining people, scanning the menu, waiting eagerly for each course, relaxing with a few glasses of wine, savoring every last bite of delicious food, and topping it off with a decadent dessert… it does not get any better than that.

Eating out is a treat. Just like any other treat, it should be enjoyed in moderation! If it becomes a habit, it will end up costing you an incredible amount of money.

With that being said, I challenge you to not eat out for a week.

Are you up to the challenge? Stay home, eat some cereal and pasta, and watch a movie with some good company. It will be just as fun… trust me. Post a comment and let us know how the challenge is going.

I guess that is easy for you to do since we all just went out to dinner at Cafe Brazil! Seriously, I will take your challenge…this is a tough time of the year to do it though since there are different events to go to. Well, if someone else is paying, like at a company Christmas party I suppose that would be okay. I know my wallet would like it!

I have half failed already… I went out to Venue, HOWEVER, I paid for the meal with an account that I received there for making their website. So that money had to be spent there sooner or later.

Just kidding, I have no excuses, I failed. Lol. Nice avatar, Dad :)

I’ve failed in advance! I already have dinner plans on the calendar for this week and next… But the NEXT week is open, and that will be my challenge week. I have a ton of good recipes I want to make anyway, so this is incentive. Good challenge, brother!

Ha! I knew that you had plans, so I specifically timed this challenge so that you would be destined to fail before it even began! *Evil Laugh*

Just kidding, do it whenever! Love ya, Liz :)
